X-rays show a broken section of bone in Gavin's L thumb (near the joint) It's called an avulsion Fracture.

He's wearing a hard splint for now, and will see the "Orthopedic Hand Specialist" on Thursday.

Sounds like he may still be able to play in the Wednesday night game. Apparently the trainer will pad his splint, his thumb is protected enough to play.

Another angle....

This is the 2nd time he's broke this thumb.. Oh gavin, what will we do with you.

That's a nice splint...couldn't have done better myself...sorry to hear there was a break!! Hopefully he will still get to play. If you need a family hand therapist, give me a call!
