A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

Seems like it was just yesterday....

35 yrs ago was the first time I saw him.
He walked past me at Ramada Inn where I had just started working as a waitress that morning.
 Auburn hair, cute, broad-shouldered!
He smiled as he walked by, carrying a medium sized radio on his shoulder.
He was headed to the kitchen, "who's that guy?" I asked my friend Deb.
 "He's the dishwasher".
I cant remember what my verbal response was,
but I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat.
It's all history now...

April 3rd, 1982

I love the responses...."oh, you look so young"
Ha ha.... we were, dah!

He actually went to my senior Prom with me.
I'm sure it was a little awkward for a guy who's a junior in college
He did it for me!

30 years ago today
 I married my best friend.
A humble, intelligent, handsome, funny, godly, selfless man!
whom I have grown to love more with each passing year.

Dear Rick,
Thank you for your faithfulness and unconditional love through all the highs and lows.
Thanks you for giving me your heart, your leadership, three beautiful children and a home.
Last but not least,
thank you for demonstrating the love of Jesus, in the way you live your life
and the way you love your family.
I love you more everyday and look forward to spending the rest of our days together !!!
Happy 30th Anniversary

I love you,  Jackie

  1. Wow, I had to quit reading this sweet, sweet blog so that I wouldn't sit and cry at my desk like a little baby. You and Rick are an amazing example to all of us young married couples. Your love is strong and endures everything. Congratulations on 30 years! I love you both!
