A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

I won, I won

I won the big giveaway...
us bloggers know what that means!

Giveaways are fun, there is usually a simple question and all that's asked of us is....leave a comment.
I know for the big-time bloggers the winner is just picked randomly,
which is nice cuz you don't have to get real original or creative with your answer.
A few weeks ago one of my favorite bloggers had a giveaway.
I left a comment, thinking to myself.... "I'll never win"
Well I did win the give away... I did, I did!
(shame on me for being so full of doubt)

The question was simple (like I said)
"What is your favorite thing about spring"?
My answer... "The thing I love most about spring is....being able to hang my clothes out on the clothes line after a long winter. Having the fresh smell of spring in my clothes again....love it". (I will miss winter though)

I would love to feature my blogger friend Lisa,
No we've never met, but you know what it's like in the blogger community,
you really do feel like you get to know someone by the way they "blog" and what they blog about.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Lisa's recipe's (I have tried many of them), not only is she an amazing cook but her photography and presentation of the food is something to be desired!
I would suggest not to check out Lisa's blog if you're hungry, cuz those photo's of the foods she has made will start the mouth a watering...
you'll want to eat, and make what she's featuring for the day.
Check out what's on her blog today

Back to the giveaway.... Here the treasure I won

Can't wait to try this...
Lisa says,
"How many times have you gone to make a recipe and you see these words next to the butter, "room temp or softened"? Ugh. I forgot to take the butter out, and now I have to wait hours before I can make this recipe. Well wait no more. You pop this baby in the microwave, remove after 1 1/2 minutes,
then slap one or two sticks of butter and in about 8 minutes
you have perfectly softened butter to use in you recipe.
The forgetful me loves it! It really works"!

That's not all folks, here's the rest...
Cookbook, Half-roll cake pan, and a cute little pitcher/creamer,
that happens to go perfectly in my kitchen!
Thank you Lisa for this lovely give-away, still can't believe I WON, whoop!

I've add a few of the recipe links that I've tried myself form Lisa's blog
check them out below, all are worth making!
....oops, my mouth is starting to water....is your's

  1. Congrats, Jackie! It's so fun to win something, isn't it?

And I know exactly how you feel about the community of bloggers. I expect we will meet sometime soon with the son moving to Rochester for the summer.

    2. We purchased a table and chairs at a thrift store, but need to refinish them. Now we need warm weather to do that. Also picked up an end table and lamp and the oldest daughter (since she is getting married this fall) is giving her brother an end table, another lamp and some kitchen items. Her roommates will just need to fill in with their own replacements earlier than expected. The biggest thing will be finding a couch and/or chairs for his living room. Thanks for asking.

  2. Oh wow, how cool is that?! Love the gift, that happens to me every single time I make something. Since I never plan ahead, the butter is always rock hard :/ Looks like a cool product! How fun :)
