A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

A peak at the colors...

After two days in Duluth we traveled up the shore to our most favorite place ever!

Chateau LeVeaux  (Tofte, Mn)
We arrived at noon, two hours before check in.
Our room wasn't ready so we pulled out our cooler and made a little lunch on the patio at Chateau.
We really didn't need to "check-in" to start our adventure so we laced up our hiking boots
and drove a few miles up the road to Oberg Mountain.

The entire hike is just 2 1/4 miles but the first half is UP...UP....UP,
but oh it's so worth it when you get to the top

I love the little signs that mark the Superior trail

This always makes me nervous...stay back from the edge

 whew, we made it

Once at the top you follow a trail that goes around in a loop
there are many places to ohhhh & ahhhh along the loop.

 Lookin' up

Lookin' down, we are so far above the tree line
Love that little lake in the distance.

After the hike we went back to our place
to have a little late afternoon R & R before dinner.
It didn't take him long to get comfy

 Our room
There are many different rooms to choose from, this is more like a giant hotel room,
equipped with a fridge and microwave, large bathroom/shower,
queen bed, couch, table with 4 chairs, fireplace and dresser.
It's all we need for a short stay.
The 2 large window look out on Lake Superior....
This is what we see looking down from our the window.
and this is what we see....

...in the morning from our bed.....glorious  :)

Stay tuned for more of our adventure on the shore

  1. Oh, wow, I want to stay here. Not so sure about that hike, though, although the view is spectacular. Gorgeous photos as always, Jackie.
