Dont mess with me....

At first glance you might not notice....

Look a little closet... you see it? (kinda hard to miss)
Yep, that's a butcher knife on my bedside table!

Here's my bedroom door

a bit closer,
I know... you're thinking, what the heck!!!
I will not be messed with when my husband is away....

Every summer my husband and his good friend K take off for
a 5 day/4 night golf outing, way up north near Park Rapids.
That leaves me home alone!
I do not do "home alone" very well as you can see by the above photo's

I'm usually in the house before dark, and barricaded in in my bedroom by 9pm.
I don't have to leave the bedroom again until morning, luckily we have
a master bathroom and I have a small TV on my night stand.
Yep, that's what I think about being home alone without my guy.
 I survive, I do just fine....I just don't like the night time's.
He's been home since Saturday, the knife is back in the butcher block...where it belongs :)
 * * *
I did do something real fun on Friday night.....
I went up to the Cities to visit my son & DIL
and......
I got to "love on", this sweet little 6 week old,
she is such a punkin', she's so content and precious!!!
 my newest granddaughter  :)
She is just the best... I just love being a grandma!

  1. You're hilarious. I love the knife and door set-up! Did you also 'fake' talk aloud to your husband (who wasn't there) to fend off any bad guys in the house? :) Oh sweet Scar, I wanna see her again!

    1. Luckily I didn't hear any strange noise in the house, so I didn't have to pretend to tell Dad to "GET THE GUN" ha,ha we don't even own a gun :)

  3. For a minute there I thought, "Jackie, why are you telling the world you're home alone?" Then I breathed a sigh of relief when I read that your sweetheart is back home. Whew.

As for Scarlett, oh, my, cuteness beyond cute.

  4. What a beautiful Scarlett:) I'm with you on sleeping at home alone. Most of the time I'm fine, but sometimes the nights bother me. Unfortunately I can't lock myself in my room since I usually have kids in the house with me;)

    1. I don't think Rick ever left overnight when the kids were still at home. I'm pretty sure I would have made them all sleep with me...ha :)

  5. Oh Jackie you made me laugh! I feel the same way I don't like being home alone. When Brian is away the kids and I have our little funny "traditions" too. Thinking about it, I have never been at out our home alone overnight since the kids were born. Scarlett, is such a sweeheart. I'm so glad you could go and visit her. :)
