A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

Family week 2025

This is our 10th season at our little cabin on the lake.
We have been blessed each year to have all of our kids, their spouses and grandkids here at the same time over a week! These 10 years have been the “golden years” for us, at least that’s what I call it. Our grandkids are still young enough that there are not a lot of things that get in the way of coming to the cabin for this precious week.
There are 11 of us and sometimes it feels like we are all on top of each other, but we make things work cuz
 we all love being together.
Today the remainder of the family left, including the grandkids and their parents. (Chris & Gavin Went back A few days early, well because… Jobs!)

Sigh, always a bittersweet day for us
Love these littles

Family week at the cabin 2024

My blog is a place for me to document our life, this week was life at the cabin with the fam.

This is our 9th season at the cabin and we are still managing to have the whole family together for a majority of a week. I dare not take this for granted as I know life will change over time.
For now I cherish our time together, and I'm counting every blessing.
We are not perfect, there is plenty of "moods", sometimes we step away to catch a breath while all 11 of us are on top of each other for a week. There is only one (Large) bathroom, so imagine the line before bedtime, it's a challenge to have moment in the bathroom without someone knocking at the door while crossing their legs at the door.
Sleeping arrangements could be better but the memories at the cabin
will be talked about for years to come. All 4 of Brices family in one bedroom, Brianna's family in the loft, more spacious but no door to keep the noise out, and it can get hot up there. Gavin gets a room to himself, he appreciates having a space he can go to even if it's just him.
Rick and I feel spoiled in our room with king size bed and a window facing the lake.
The cool breeze off the lake, loons singing and the lapping of the lake is our "White noise"
At one point this year we were all packed into the sunroom watching the Olympics,
so fun to watch the USA girls take Gold whoop whoop!

I've included a "photo dump" to catch just a bit of our week together.
Hope you enjoy
