A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

4 generations...

Our 2nd annual Erickson family picnic on my dad's side.
This year my Brother Rick hosted!
Sadly the camera clicker was out of range so the photo below is a practice photo before I ran to be in the picture. A few people are looking at the camera, most aren't, and I'm missing, oh well.

34 of the "Erickson" tribe made it!

The youngest & oldest siblings of my dad,
Bob and marilyn are the only ones left in the 1st generation. Dad would have loved this.

The 2nd Generation (My generation) 1st cousins. Three weren't able to make it

1st and 2nd cousins, several were missing, I lost count

It was so fun to gather, share a meal and reminisce
3 generations, My big brother, his son and grandson
My little brother sharing old photos that he brought to life with AI
When I was 15 my sweet baby cousin Holly was born!
Our dads were twins and she was my flower girl in our wedding.
Olders, middles and youngers
Just chillin'
The Matriarch (How is she 90?)

The littles, running around playing games

When I was a little kid, family reunions were a big thing. It was a time when the "old people" talked and the youngers played with 1st  & 2nd cousins they barely knew.
As I get older I appreciate these gatherings, our plan is to continue every year in August.
How about you... do you have family reunions, how often do you gather?

Where did April go....

April was a Month of family, visits, and celebrations
It was packed full.... I blinked and now it's almost the end of the month.
Where did April go?

The first weekend we had Brice and kids,
while mama stayed home for some uninterruped time to catch up.
Brice and Rick worked on taxes, while Grandma had "littles duty", my favorite things!
Sunday we met up with daughter Brianna and family for lunch
My goofy grand boys <3
Our Grands,
there was lots of "cousin time" this weekend!

2nd  weekend of April
Rick's brother Brad and sis-in-law Julie invited us up to their cabin for the weekend
They bought their cabin last fall, and are on the same lake as us!
They are just 1 mile north of us, and unlike our cabin, their cabin is seasonal. So they keep it open all year.
It's fun to be upnorth in the winter, julie and I enjoy our morning chats.
We stopped by our cabin and visited with our neighbors.
This is what the lake looks like,
mostly frozen-over with a little water along the edge.

3rd weekend- Easter
Brice, Jen and kids stayed 2 night with us over Easter
Lewin is having fun coloring eggs

After egg coloring,
Scarlett and I snuck away for a little "Girls date"

The cousins even got to hang out on Saturday
Lewin showing us his new skill.... riding the two-wheeler
Egg-finding, Sunday morning (Jenny and kids)
Laser tag

After church we headed to mom & dad's for Easter lunch

Ready to sing, "Happy Birthday"
Happy Birthday to you sweet Audrey, my "Jojo"

Sunday morning snuggle with the Twin cities grands
They always wander into our room at about 6:45am and ask to watch cartoon, it's the best thing ever.
After they leave, I keep it this way for awhile....
it's so quiet and we miss the commotion of all our littles.

One more weekend left in April, no big plans but hope to see our Rochester grands on Sunday.
It's kind of a routine when their mama works over-nights.

Hoping we get to open the cabin in May.... the weather has not been cooperating thus far, but Spring is coming....I think

31 of us plus 2 dogs....

Every other year on December 25th, ALL 31 of us plus two dogs come and fill-up mom and dad's single level rambler style house. The house us 4 kids grew up in. It's a big house with a good size living room, family room and 4 bedrooms, but might I add...only one bathroom, that's right 31 people, with one bathroom. Sounds crazy but it works!!!
Ok, ok so I exaggerated a little bit, there are still 4 in diapers so 27 people and 1 bathroom. HA!
We are blessed to have our family fairly close... the furthest coming from the Twin Cities area.

I love seeing our kids and their cousins goofing off and reminiscing.
I especially love seeing the generations mix, here my niece Alex,
is helping her 2nd cousin Carson retrieve his stocking.

Spending time with my siblings and their families is the best
My little brother Randy and his son Grant.

We always try to get some sort of group picture.
The grandchildren & great-grands is about all we can manage indoors...
attempting to gather the original 9 plus their 8 little ones
notice the goofing off in the back row, and the rolling around of a little one in the front.
We did it!
Ages 2 months to 35
My attempt with the spouses did not turn out...everyone blurry :(

My sweet husband in the middle....they all wandered in and sat around him.

 Enamored by his tiny grandson.

TV room, I'm sure there's some sort of game on!

My niece Megan (left) and nephews wife, Kate.
My mom center, and my Big brother Rick holding his grandson Eli far Left.

My dad, my son Brice and granddaughter Scarlett

The "gamers", playing their annual Christmas game of Catan

The day after Christmas and all through the house
only grandma and Scarlett were awake, being quiet as a mouse.

We have one more Christmas celebration tonight with Rick's side of the family
and again... all of us will be there, 25 in all!
I love this time of year when all of our families are able to gather together, we are lucky and blessed!
