Thursdays.....

Peace plaza, downtown Rochester

 Every summer Rochester has an event on Thursdays called, 

Thursdays on 1st.  

(In recent years It's expanded to 3rd St. as well)

The streets are closed off and are filled with vendors of every kind

art and crafts, foods, jewelry and entertainment

On a side note.... Alot of the utility boxes downtown have been painted with pretty designs,
so much better than the plain old metal boxes

I knew my daughter and kids were possibly going down to Thursdays on 1st, and I hadn't been down yet this year so I headed down town too and hoped to run into them....

Miss Audrey really wanted to have her face painted...this lady is so talented

Audrey's beautiful bracelet, she paid half with her own money,
 grandma chipped in the other half

I found this hand crafted truck for Carson, he was so glad and held on to it all the way back to the car,

Such beautiful workman ship, I may have to pick up a few more of these for Christmas :)

Thursday's on first (street)

Rochester holds a fun event every summer on Thursdays

A few of the streets are blocked to through traffic and the vender's take over

 Food...lots of food

This guy is stirring a large caldron of some sort of ethnic food

His job was to stir it.

Pizza for my sweet granddaughter and 

a pulled pork sandwich for me.

 There is also entertainment scheduled at different times all day long,

Audrey loved to watch the dancing girls (on the stage by the coke truck)

Audrey stopped to see the shiny hair bows made from pop cans

 We can't forget about my sister in law

she has a booth with warm fresh homemade cookies

we all had to have one...for dessert :)

Night on the town

"Thursdays on first", it's called

During the summer here in Rochester MN ,

downtown is buzzing with excitement every Thursday,

on and around 1st avenue.

The streets are lined with vendors selling their goods.

This one (vendor) happens to be my sister-in-law Cindy.

She makes her own jewlery which as you can see...

...is beautiful

She also makes suncatchers... Love all the colors

There are also many food vendors that line the streets.

Tonight Rick and I decided to sit inside Bilottis for some delicious italian food.

Our daughter Brianna was working downtown at Methodist hospital tonight. I jokingly said to Rick wouldnt that be funny if Brianna came down here for her break and we ran into her...

What are the chances of us being there at the same time

and running into each other with thousands of people everywhere....
