May 2026 Re-Cap

Just driveway basketball with grandpa (and Carson)

Our Sweet Audrey was invited to Prom by her special guy
They are so cute together

Our Carson pitches for his BB team, so fun to watch him

Rick and I took a side trip to Detroit lake to find some of the famous trolls
If you ever get a chance you should visit.
It will take the whole day as they are spread out all over Detroit Lakes.

Early spring shoreline fixing.

We were able to stream Carsons band concert from our cabin

My goofy boys decided it would be funny to send me this photo from their remote camp site.
AI can do a lot to frighten a mom!

Opening Cabin weekend with our boys (and Brices' family)
Dock goes in first
Every spring Brice carries his kids out in the lake with his hip waders, she's almost 12.
The next picture is the 2nd spring we owned the cabin.

Lew helped a little this year!

He loves the hammock, uses it as a swing.

Always games!

Father and son having some quiet time together.

Doc loves the cabin
The crew, so thankful for them
Looking forward to another season at the cabin. #11

A bit of October happenings...

Our summer consists of being at the cabin for about 2 weeks then back home to Rochester for a week, then repeat....

We've got our groove when it comes to maintaining 2 homes, but we have had some help from the Rochester kids when mowing the yard is involved. We are thankful for the help

The last time we were home, late September into early October we got to catch up with our families.

That involves watching the grands play sports, hanging out, bonfires, Homecoming games and wishing our oldest granddaughter off to the homecoming dance. We love every minute of it.

Carson making s'mores in our backyard

Did I mention cleaning up the flower beds?

Flag football for Carson, and Saturday morning Soccer (not pictured)

Flag football for our little Lew, playing center (like his dad did in High School)

Our fiesty Scarlett (middle) also playing flag football
This last Saturday she reportedly got a touchdown, and Lew almost pulled a flag off the opponent.

Our Audrey all ready for the homecoming dance. how in the world is she old enough?

Rick and I celebrated his Birthday last week at the golf course.
I was the cart driver, he was the golfer.

Yesterday we took the boat in to be winterized,
it's always a sad day as this means we are getting closer to the end of the season.

I took the boat out the other day and captured some of the "color" along the shore
Also found me some gathering loons
Sun shining off the trees
hello Mr. loon

Our "Closing Crew" will be up this coming weekend to help get the boatlift and dock out of the water.
Stay tuned to see who shows up to help this year.

He keep his name, which he was dubbed in high school...

 Still just as competitive...

Ball playing...

Athletics run in our family
I remember going to watch my mom play softball when I was a little girl,
I think that's where I inherited the love of the game.
I played boys baseball in elementary school (back when girls didnt play on boys teams....but I did)
I went on to play slowpitch, then highschool and college fast pitch.

My hubby "played ball" since he was a little guy,
and my kids have play many sports as well.

Our kids grew up watching Rick and I play softball,
as I got more busy being a mom, it was
mostly Rick.... he still plays as a  sub.
I loved packing up the kids and going to watch Rick play ball.

The tradition has extended now to our grandkids
They are the next generation of game watchers as they watch their daddy play
(our son-in-law Chris)

Miss Audrey scaling the fence about 3 years old

Our boys (Gavin left & Brice right) and son-in-law playing in the Church of Christ State tournament

Little Carson started his ball watching at a very early age.
Uncle Brice taking a break to tell him about the game  :)

 My sweet daughter....a faithful fan

Yep, that's my guy just a few years ago...he's still got it!

 The fans

Taking a little break, in-between games

My boys playing with Audrey between games
I love how happy she is...she loves her uncles

This year Carson has grown up a bit
It's his 3rd season of watching ball.

 Monkey see... monkey do.

Grandpa and Carson watching Carson's daddy play.

Still climbing the fence... she's a veteran ball watcher with 6 seasons under her belt.

The mamma's and the littles

Daddy's #1 fans
and hopefully the next generation of ball players !
