So I had to get pretty close to this bumble bee to get it in the picture....
That's a big deal!
You see when I was younger...even through early adulthood,
I had a BIG fear of two things, can you guess?
Bee's and Tornados
( I know... weird combination)
I've been known to jump out of (slow) moving cars if a bee got in through the window.
When I was little I remember being stung on the hand in the garage. I remember sobbing, (mom you were at work). I remember dad got some dirt, made it into mud and put it on the sting... It felt better. But that stuck with me for a long time. I've been stung several times since then and I don't like it, but I'm thankful I'm not allergic to the darn things.
Tornados'....
Love this photo I found on Google images.
When I was about around the age of 3-4, I got caught up in a tornado wind storm that took my trike right out from under me and blew it across the empty lot. I remember standing in the middle of that lot, again crying and waiting for my dad to reach me, he really wasn't far away but it felt like it (mom you were at work again). I think the other thing that had me so scared of the darn things is that our house didn't have a basement so we were always running to the neighbors to seek shelter. (scary for little kids)
Now I'm Not afraid of either one of those things.... i guess I got over it.
I dont have a problem getting up close for a macro shot of a bee...
and I'd rather be out on my deck looking at the storm then in
the basement looking for shelter
Funny how that all changes.
I used to get so mad at my Mom and Dad during tornado watch or warnings. One would go out the front door, one would go out the back door and I'd be left alone. ha! Today? I'm right outside watching the storms too.
ReplyDeleteWork was all I did I guess. Sorry for your scary childhood.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't say that I'm afraid of either of those things. But I did get stung yesterday so maybe the bees and I are not such good friends right now.
