I have a love-hate relationship with this tree...

Our 30 year old Shademaster Locust tree was due for a trim and haircut.
The tree was full of so many dead branches, it looked half dead.
So my DIY guy started to cut out the dead growth
while trying to keep the tree from looking too "bald"

This little guy came over to help.
Grandpa was using the loud chainsaw, so Carson wore the appropriate gear.

 Down-sizing the branches

He was all about helping to pick up the branches

A middle-of-the-street break to talk "guy-stuff"
I love how Carson climbed up on his bike seat to get up to the level of the guys.

Two loads to the brush dump

The tree is looking a little shell-shocked but we are hoping the major trim will promote
new growth to fill-in where the dead stuff once was.

  1. I adore that photo of Carson standing on the bike seat and leaning into Grandpa. It's a moment, a sweet moment that shows the love and trust between those two.

I hope your tree fills out, too. Time will tell...
