A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

It's what they said it would be...

Can you spot the mailboxes?
I'm quite sure the mailman will not stop to dig out these boxes today.

Yesterday was amazing in so many ways.
Not all have to agree with me, I don't expect that, but it is exciting for me... a winter lover!
The weather service hit the nail-on-the-head!
We had a good old fashion blizzard, complete with extreme winds and snow.
13.5 inches of the white stuff recorded in Rochester
I'm not sure I've seen this about of snow for a long time.

The map below was still from this morning (Monday)
No travel was still being advised and major highways were still "closed",
due to drifting and very poor road conditions,
Rochester is down in the middle of all that RED.

Yesterday, our county, "Olmsted" issued a State of Emergency
We were told to stay home and not travel unless it was an Emergency.
* * * * * * *
Our morning was spent digging out of the driveway and clearing the steps to the front door.
We were on of the lucky ones in Rochester that had the plow come through early in the morning.
The first pass is always the hardest.

Proof that this "Minnesota, Snow-Loving" girl gets out and helps.

Our son Gavin is trying to keep his glasses clear while he digs out the fire hydrant.

A look down our cul-de-sac.
Winds were recorded at 50+ MPH, hence the Blizzard Warning for Rochester.

There really are steps under that snow.

The intersection outside our neighborhood.

The snow pile in the cul-de-sac

Working and chatting....you gotta pace yourself, right!

Spotted this guy today in the Target parking lot.
A high of 4 degrees with windchills in the negative numbers....hummm???

...and don't for get the 9 "snow-days" for Rochester kids.
This is for sure a winter to remember...

I'm glad my grandkids got to experience it!
