A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

Part Two, Road trip

After a lovely evening in Eau Claire we packed up the car and headed to
LaCrosse for some more fun
First stop.... to see Rick's uncle Wayne and aunt JoAnne.
We just love these two and always say we wanna be just like them when we grow up.
They took us to lunch at a little cafe called Jacqulon's,
after lunch we visited on their warm sunny deck . Then off we went to our next destination.

On the way we passed this buggy, outfitted with a couple Amish guys.

A few years a go I saw some pictures of this place in LaCrosse and have always wanted to check it out. It's a beautiful shrine built way up on a hill on the outskirts of LaX. It has many buildings and walkways with beautiful things to gaze at.
It was a gorgeous day for a walk and most of it is outdoors so we really enjoyed our time there.
Below are just random pictures of the grounds and shrine itsself.

Cant really show you the depth in a photo...just believe me it was beautiful

Only two of many stained glass windows...breath-taking
Ceiling in the foyer when we walked into the church
Rick was feeling the need to visit the confessionals

memorial to the "Unborn"

Rosary walk... we enjoyed the beautiful pictures made of tile, depicting periods
of Christs life here on earth.

Probably my favorite... a sweet little building,
the Votive Candle Chapel

largest candle rack in the United States, it contains 576 votive candles
and measures 14 feet high and 12 feet wide on each of its four sides.

So there you have it. Our road trip spurred us on to want to take many more. We just gotta find some cool interesting things to see, then go see them.
If you havent already read part one, you can see that blog below.
