A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

Reflections of a week gone by...

Sunday Rick and I traveled up north to a little Christian camp on Long Lake called Pine Haven. It's near Park Rapids in Hubbard county. Rick grew up going there as a church camper, and also to a cabin (near the camp) on vacations with his family. I was 5 months pregnant with Brianna the first time I went up there. I fell in love with the surrounding immediately. We have only missed 2 years in the last 22. The week is unstructured, we hang out with others families from our church...basically we rent the camp to ourselves. It's a great facility and we have free reign of it all.

Cousins grew up together here...

These two were baptized here

Boys will be boys here....

Hey boys...where's your helmets , Ha... oh those were the days !

This year we were blessed with some, shall we say.....new blood :)
New families, with little ones...
Winn~Betsy~Shep

more noise, more commotion, more people, and best of all new & stronger friendships

It was refreshing and so much fun. I was reminded of our earlier years, when we first started attending. All the little ones, all the commotion, then they grew up and many haven't been back, so it got quiet over the years as we (the original group) got older and our kids grew up. Now the circle is coming around again, a new generation of campers.
Like my sweet granddaughter, It was already her 2nd year up at camp...she's almost a veteran.
Little one with her Uncle Gavin...remember in the picture above, he was the one with the slingshot.

Fun in the water is always a big hit, most of our afternoons are spent down at the lake,

Boating....
playing, king of the mat

Kayaking

playing trucks

Hanging out...relaxing
It was a delightful year, looking forward to next year already

  3. thanks for taking us there (as your new neighbors) 18 years ago! I still say you are risk takers...having only known us for a month!

  4. That was 18 years ago, um, wow, I'm starting to realize that a year is not a long time at all, seems like yesterday! Also, it's pretty funny that we only had known them for a month at that point!
