A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

Part 3 of my road trip with mom...

After Mom and I finished up flower shopping at Pork and Plants we decided we needed lunch
so we headed to the nearest town... Altura.
(Altura is a small town in Winona County with a population of about 500).
We didnt really see a place that suited our fancy, mostly just bars...Ugh

So we headed to the next best town, St Charles (pop. 3700)
St. Charles is a small farming community with a population of about 3700,
It's only about 20 minutes from the south side of Rochester.

First thing I see as we pull into town...
Church, turned into bridal shop,
Now that's a new concept, get it all done in one stop :)
Very pretty window display

Next stop, lunch at Del's Cafe.
Mom and I both settled on the salad bar...yummy food!

Those old town store fronts...gotta love it

Clever name for an antique shop...
Sarah's Uniques
&
Jim's "Man"tiques
We didn't take time to visit the shop....maybe next time  :)

  2. I remember that church turned bridal shop from our stop in St. Charles several years ago. Didn't have time to explore it and doubted the teen and hubby would have been interested. We dined at the Whitewater Cafe. I believe that's the name. Thanks for sharing your small town pix. You know how much I appreciate small towns. Sounds like you had a fabulous day with your mom.

    1. I knew you'd appreciate the small town post Audrey, it would have been fun to check out a few of the stores but mom's got a bum hip, so the walking was getting hard on her. It didnt help that I drug her out to that grave yard and had her trapes around with me.
