A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

Finishing up our Milwaukee get-away

There really is so much to see in (and around) Milwaukee.
We were only there for 2 days which isn't long enough.
Thought I would share a few of my photo's as we toured around by car and foot.

The homes.... oh my, the homes....

These homes are in the village of Shorewood, a beautiful walk near the lake.

The Basilica of St. Josaphat, Didn't get in this one... next time.

Then there was this church,
One of its members was there watering the plants,
I boldly asked if we could step inside, he obliged .
Such beauty and detail
I walked to the front and turned around,
I expected it...and there it was, a beautiful pipe organ,
much like the one in my church I grew up in.
From the outside looking up.
and these doors, leading down into the lower level

 Walking along Lake Michigan
One of my favorite flowers

We couldn't go to Milwaukee without seeing our Nephew Ryan (front left), and
Niece Kellie (purple shirt) and their spouse. They are Rick's brother's kids and grew up with our kids here in Rochester. They are near and dear to our hearts!
They chose the restaurant, Rock Bottom Brewery

A view of the Rock Bottom Brewery across from the Milwaukee River.
We sat out on the patio, watching the boats go by,
but as the sun set it got very cold so we moved inside.
It was fun seeing the kids and catching up on their lives.

Loved this... N. Broadway street sign, paved in the sidewalk.

Any of you been to Milwaukee, what are your favorite things to do?

  3. Great pics of the church! I love the pics outside with the cool clouds:) As a side note, if you've never been to St Catherine's campus in St Paul, I suggest you visit with your camera. Beautiful place! My cousin was married there last year and I just loved soaking in the surroundings!
