A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

Time to re-connect, and to cherish our friends at the lake.

It's been about a month since I've posted anything about the cabin.
We have been busy with the death of Rick's dad and other commitments but we've been able to
sneak away twice for some much-needed rest and reflection.

We love the view out our dining room window at the lake
I also love the bible verse as it is very reassuring in times of sadness

No visitors yet, just Rick and I.
It was good to have time to re-connect after several months
of what seemed like a whirlwind, as his dad's health declined.

but we have friends/neighbors at the lake who cheered us on and stood by our side through it all.
With short notice, our friend John (bottom left) sang at Ricks dad's funeral, he and his wife Judy had already planned to travel down to the funeral from Park Rapids. Such GOOD friends.
Melinda and Dick are old friends who live in Rochester but have a cabin at the lake not far from us.
We had dinner together, at Clancy's just north of Park Rapids.

We had some rainy day moments, so we kicked back and relaxed with a good book.

On the sunny days, Rick picked away at paining the stairs and railing of the deck.
If you remember he spent all last summer refinishing the floor of the deck.
The railings are now done too! He did an amazing job.

We were given a flag pole from our friend John, so we bought a new flag and up it went.
We love it!

Kayaking is a fun thing for Rick to do on the lake.

We love us a good fire, this night was perfect!

We just love our friends on the lake!
Next door neighbors Scott and Kristi and their son Zach took us out for an evening pontoon ride,
so peaceful!

Double rainbows the evening before we came home last week, at one point it looked like it was ending right in the lake, it was so pretty!

We don't ever have to be reminded of the blessings we have in our place at the lake.

  1. Just beautiful. Every photo. Every word. I feel like I'm right there with you at the lake.
