A mix of photography, recipes, personal thoughts, faith, and lots of family stuff, but not necessarily in that order.

End of the 11th year cabin season and things

The lake never disappoints with the vibrant fall colors...
As the sun sets, it lights up the shore on the other side of the lake

It's always hard to bring the boat in for the season. We have to think about getting it in to the guy who winterizes it for us before it gets too cold! Too cold=cracked engine and we dont want that.

We got to take another little break and head down to my Son Brice's house to hang out with our granddaughter while Brice, Jen and Lew went to a concert (Scar didnt want to go)
Sitting with her and watching her finger crochet a lap quilt
The next morning we enjoyed breakfast with the family, then Rick and I walked Lew to school.
Earlier I got to drive Scar to school, she is in Middle school this year.
We love spending time with our grands and kids whenever we can, it was a short but sweet visit.

Back to the cabin...
This is what the lake looks like in the morning when the air is cooler than the lake,
so beautiful yet spooky.

Rick's brother Brad helped bring the dock and jetski lift in from the lake this year
We are thankful for family at the lake, they own a cabin one mile from us (same lake)
Evening walk with my guy
Closing prep... covering the window AC in the loft
Boat lift cover scrubbed and hanging to dry
Rick is getting the Pine needles from the gutters
We took a break to enjoy our 2nd annual progressive Dinner & Dessert with
Ricks brother Brad and his wife Julie.
Julie made Spaghetti and I made a Apple crisp.

Closing day for us... So much to do!
The master packer!
Ready to go by 10:15 am

Our 11th season at the cabin was great!
All the friends & family visits are priceless, we cherish our times together.
IT'S A WRAP!

  1. Your cabin is such a blessing to many. And like a slice of heaven on earth. So happy for you to have this place and also happy for the time you have with your grands.
