Three generations is pretty common in a family...
Four generations is a little more difficult to achieve...
Five generations isnt heard of much...
it almost seems impossible, but our family has been blessed with the
longevity of a Hemmer patriarch!
Rick's Grandpa, Brianna's Great-Grandpa and Audrey's Great-great grandpa
Neil Hemmer
Starting with baby Audrey in the center, going to the right is Audrey's mom Brianna (Hemmer) Lewis. Then it's Brianna's dad, Rick Hemmer. Then Rick's dad, Wayne Hemmer and Wayne's dad, Neil Hemmer.
Yesterday a few of the Hemmer family went to Adams Mn to visit "grandpa Neil" in the nursing home. As we waited for Brianna Chris and Audery to arrive we tried and tried to wake grandpa up as he sat in his wheelchair. Finally after many attempts I got him to open his eyes, and I even got a smile. Grandpa isnt very verbal any more, and he really can't hear...at all. So to get a smile really says a million words.
As he became more aware of his surrounding, his eyes traveled to the little bundle of pink at the foot of his wheelchair...
His mouth dropped open and he immediatley put his hands out to her.
Notice the Hands reaching out to his great-great granddaughter.
"I know I've seen you before"
This was their 2nd meeting...the first was 9 months ago when Audrey was 7 days old.

Grandpa Neil will be 97 years old in March.
We cherish the times we can spend with him and the memories we make.
Very special visit for the little one.

ReplyDeleteThats pretty cool! My grandpa is 90 years old and all his great-grandchildren are no where near old enough to have babies.
