The KID table

I think most of us have sat at the "kid table" for holiday feasts

The other day at my mom's house we were getting ready to fill our plates and be seated.
Out of the kitchen came my little nephew Grant (he is 8)
here's what he said to me....

"Aunt Jackie, where's the kid table?"
I said, "right there where all the kids are sitting"
Then it occured to me that those kids
are probably only "kid looking" to me
those kids are now adults
all but 5 of them are 19 - 30 yrs old

I'm sure they really don't look like kids to an 8 year old
I'm glad not all the kids have grown...
but they will always be the kids to me

  1. Haha, that is so funny. Grant is so cute. Also, our kid table was extra long this year and we have beat out the 'adults' in number by far! I have to say I still completely feel like a kid that belong at the kid table. :)

  5. i agree whole heartedly with Brianna! I still feel like a kid and that i belong at the kid table. I mean, so long as there are grandparents and our parents...we will be the kids. i think that's just how it is.

But that's probably hard for an 8 year old to understand. someday...

  6. I think we will have to add on to the house some day. Or get another table.
